November-end provided two very discomforting news-bytes that whipped up an emotional stir up over national prestige and economic security. First was about the Tejas crash in an aerobatic demonstration at the international air show in Dubai. Second is related to our Rs. The Indian rupee last week has hit an all-time low against all major currencies of the world; 89.3 against the $, 103 against the € and 118 against the £. The rupee, at present, is Asia’s weakest currency. It has slipped the most in last one-month timeframe. Both the issues have emotional as well as technical aspects. Sentiments are about the common man and technical issues are for the rational thinking.
